Corpus Christi Polymers' (CC Polymers) acquisition of insolvent M&G USA's integrated PET complex at Corpus Christi, Texas, has been completed – see Plasteurope.com of 09.01.2019. CC Polymers is a JV between Alpek (Mexico City / Mexico; www.alpek.com), Far Eastern New Century (Taipei / Taiwan; www.fenc.com) and Indorama Ventures (IVL, Bangkok / Thailand; www.indoramaventures.com).

The advanced construction project in Corpus Christi should now be quickly completed. The JV partners are each entitled to market one third of the output. The plant will be the world's largest single integrated polyester complex, with capacities of 1.3m t/y of PTA and 1.1m t/y of PET. According to Plasteurope.com's Polyglobe database (www.polyglobe.net), the three companies are already the top three polyester producers, with the division of M&G's legacy in Brazil (Indorama), Mexico (Alpek) and the US (Far Eastern).
