INEOS COMPOUNDS
Portfolio expanded to include bio-based PVC compounds
Ineos Compounds (Sins, Switzerland; www.ineos.com) has brought to market bio-based PVC compounds. The material sold under the brand name Evicom is certified according to ISCC standards and made from plant-based feedstocks and/or produced with green energy, the company says.

Depending on the application-related formulation, the bio-PVC compounds are said to have a carbon footprint that is up to 80% smaller than that of conventional material.

Ineos sees possible applications in consumer goods such as garden hoses and toys, but also in the industrial sector, for example in fittings and cables.

In response to a Plasteurope.com query, Ineos Compounds put the total capacity at 120,000 t/y, adding that 330 employees generate an annual turnover of about EUR 200 mn.
