Antalis (Boulogne-Billancourt, France; www.antalis.com) is continuing to grow, this time through the acquisition of Spanish packaging distributor Gosuma (Castilla y Leon; www.gosuma.es). No financial details were released.

The Spanish company specialises in distribution of corrugated cardboard boxes, plastic containers, polyethylene films, and adhesive tapes, and packaging machines for the automotive, food, and pharmaceutical industries. Turnover was most recently reported at around EUR 5 mn.

With this latest acquisition, the French distributor of industrial paper and plastic packaging has strengthened its position on the Iberian Peninsula after taking over Spanish label manufacturer Cohal Group (Pinto; www.cohal.com) last summer. German packaging distributor BB Pack (Drei Gleichen; www.bbpack.de), which specialises in the e-commerce sector, has also been part of the Antalis family since 2022.

Antalis CEO Hervé Poncin explained that the distributor also wants to expand operations through acquisitions in the future. The French firm is a wholly owned subsidiary of Kokusai Pulp & Paper Group (KPP, Tokyo; www.kppc.co.jp), one of the world’s leading paper wholesalers with reported annual turnover of around EUR 4 bn. Antalis has 60 distribution centres, operates in 30 countries, and employs around 3,800.
