Plants in Termoli: The Italian location will also serve as a starting point for deliveries to Russia and Turkey (Photo: Momentive)
As planned, Momentive Performance Materials (MPM, Waterford, New York; www.momentive.com) has completed the expansion of its Italian plant in Termoli, and put it into operation (see Plasteurope.com of 25.11.2020). In the future, besides polyurethane additives for solid foams and silicones, flexible foam additives of the Niax series will also be produced there.

The additional capacity, the exact scope of which was not disclosed, is aimed at the comfort and furniture, insulation, and automotive sectors – as well as the ecologically less-questionable products.

According to additives division manager Varghese Poulouse Nalian, the expansion is also aimed at a more flexible and stable supply to European customers. In addition, Momentive had previously announced that it would also supply Russia and Turkey from Termoli.
