Increase output of Vienna compounding / More expansions planned

With the construction of a new production hall and the installation of two additional twin-screw extruders, Austrian compounder Sax Polymers (Vienna; www.saxpolymers.com) said it has almost doubled its production capacity at its headquarters site. In addition, the company has expanded storage for pellets by installing two more silos with a total capacity of 130 t/y.

A further expansion has already been planned. By 2025, production capacity is to be increased by three lines, the firm said. The parent company, Hromatka Group, is planning to invest EUR 7 mn in the same.

In addition to compounding at its headquarters in Vienna, Sax Polymers operates another plant in Oberriet, Switzerland. Its portfolio includes polyamide 6 and 6.6, polypropylene, POM, PBT, polyketone, ABS, SAN, ASA, blends, conductive compounds, and masterbatches.
