Traceability certification gets official recognition from Circular Plastics Alliance

The Recycled Plastics Traceability Certification provided by EU recycling initiative RecyClass (Brussels; www.recyclass.eu) has now been recognised by the European Commission’s Circular Plastics Alliance (CPA; www.circular-plastics-alliance.com) as an official audit scheme.
This means that converters who submit their recycled plastic volumes to one of the officially approved CPA data collector systems, like RecoTrace, can now use the RecyClass certification.

The CPA’s recognition follows the positive evaluation of RecyClass’ Recycled Plastics Traceability Certification by the European co-operation for Accreditation (www.european-accreditation.org – see Plasteurope.com of 21.01.2022).
RecyClass said these developments “pave the way towards robust recycling data in Europe while strengthening transparency and traceability of recycled plastics use and building trust on the market”.
The CPA is targeting 10 mn t/y of recycled polymers use between 2025 and 2030 (see Plasteurope.com of 29.03.2022). RecyClass is inviting companies that want to track their progress and count their conversion tonnages towards the CPA target to input volumes for free on the RecoTrace system.
