Austrian packaging manufacturer Coveris (Vienna; www.coveris.com) is investing in a five-layer extrusion line to expand its capability for producing wrap stretch films for agricultural applications. Coveris will install and commission the new line at its Kufstein / Austria plant during the second quarter of 2020. Adding production capacity there allows Coveris to extend its silage film to include additional films for high-speed wrappers and challenging bale sizes.
The expansion at Kufstein marks the second phase of an investment programme initiated last year by Coveris to expand and upgrade its technical capabilities. In the first phase, production capacity in co-extruded films was increased at the company’s facility in Winsford / UK – see Plasteurope.com of 13.12.2019. Coveris’ investment in its Kufstein and Winsford plants raises the company’s production capacity for silage wrap films to approximately 30,000 t.
