ATTERO
Start-up of new recycling plant / Dutch waste disposal company due to begin regrind production
On 15 March 2019, waste disposal company Attero (Venlo / The Netherlands; www.attero.nl) will officially open its new recycling facility for the treatment of plastics from household waste at its site in Wijster / The Netherlands. The plant has been under construction since the beginning of 2017 at a cost of EUR 25m and will have a capacity of 24,000 t/y of "InfiniteFilm LDPE", which is PE regrind for film – see Plasteurope.com of 14.03.2017.

A prominent guest at the opening will be Frans Timmermans, the European Commission’s first vice president. Following the opening, there will be a roundtable discussion, with the central question being "How do we develop a market for recycled plastics?"

Attero focuses on the sorting, shredding and washing of household and industrial waste from a range of different sources. At its Dutch sites in Wijster and Groningen, the company processes PET, PE and PP, among other things.
