US plastics packaging manufacturer apparently to be bought by private equity firm
Packaging and medical components manufacturer Tekni-Plex (Wayne, Pennsylvania / USA; www.tekni-plex.com) is about to be acquired by Genstar Capital (San Francisco, California / USA; www.gencap.com). According to Reuters, the purchase price of just under USD 1.5 bn was agreed upon with US private equity owner American Securities (New York; www.american-securities.com).
Tekni-Plex has plants in the US, Belgium, Costa Rica, Germany, India, Italy and the UK, and recently started production at its new plant in Suzhou / China (see Plasteurope.com of 31.08.2017). Its workforce comprises around 2,500 employees.
