New website for plastics mega-fair / Online catalogue now available / eTicket purchases possible by end-March

Even though the fair itself is still months away, it is clear that the plastics world in 2013 centres around just one letter: “K”. Ahead of this year’s mega-fair, held from 16 to 23 October 2013 in Düsseldorf / Germany, organiser Messe Düsseldorf (Düsseldorf / Germany; www.messe-duesseldorf.de) has unveiled a completely new design of the official fair website, available at www.k-online.de.
The portal, which recorded more than 11m clicks during “K 2010”, not only includes information on the fair, industry news, research and science as well as practical advice for visitors, but recently also uploaded this year’s exhibitors’ database, the fair’s online catalogue. Under the “Companies and Products” option, the site’s users can search for specific companies or compile downloadable lists of firms grouped according to services or country of origin. The site also boasts additional features, including MyOrganiser, MyCalendar as well as MyCatalogue. A lot of the information is also available on the new K app, suitable for both Android and Apple systems.
Another new website feature is the matchmaking function, which pairs up like-minded exhibitors and visitors, allowing for online searches of potential cooperation partners. The option makes it easier to network ahead of the fair and arrange meetings during the event itself, Messe Düsseldorf says.
The fair organiser also informs visitors that eTickets for the event will be available for sale on the website from the end of March 2013 onwards. These tickets are much cheaper than those purchased at the official ticket office. Purchased online, for instance, a day pass goes for EUR 49, compared to EUR 65 at the official counter. Three-day tickets purchased on the website are priced at EUR 108 compared to EUR 135. The tickets include free public transportation in Düsseldorf and the immediate region.
Visitors from abroad will be happy to know about a special cooperation between Messe Düsseldorf, Deutsche Bahn and Düsseldorf Marketing & Tourismus, which allows them to travel from all German cities to Düsseldorf and back at a special discounted price.
