VINK GROUP
Acquisitions and start-ups fuel European growth / Trading and distribution specialist
The Vinkgroup (DK-8900 Randers), trader and distributor of semi-finished plastics, has made a number of moves recently to boost its position in several European geographical markets. In December 1999, the company, part of the Dutch Schuttersveld group (Utrechtseweg 46, NL-3704 HD Zeist), acquired SemiPlast AB (Kumla Gardsvag 26 B, S-14563 Norsborg) of Sweden (annual sales of EUR 2.6m) and integrated it into its own Swedish subsidiary. The combined firms will have annual sales of EUR 9.5m and a “significant market share” in Sweden, said Vink.
Also in December, the company bought Scert Plastiques S.A. (Avenue de la Gare, F-95380 Louvres), a French market leader with sales of EUR 32m.Vink also has established a new company in Hungary, near Budapest, with stock and office facilities. This complements a business established several years ago in the Czech Republic. Currently, Hungary is experiencing “reasonable growth” in semi-finished plastics, Vink said. The recent initiatives are “a perfect match” to the company´s growth strategy, said ceo Steen Bodker.
