TEICH / DANAPAK
Northern European JV for flexible packaging
Packaging groups Teich AG (A-3200 Weinburg; www.teichag.com) and Danapak A/S (DK-5260 Odense S; www.danapak.dk) intend to merge their flexible packaging activities in northern Europe in a 60:40 joint venture. Teich will be contributing the British company Teich Flexibles Ltd. and the Danish Corona Packaging, while Danapak provides two plants plus a marketing location in Denmark. The new company for aluminium foil, metallised plastics and coated paper, with its head office in Denmark, will have a sales volume of some EUR 114m, according to an announcement.

Teich AG is the lead company of Constantia Verpackungen AG (A-1010 Vienna; www.constantia-industrie.com) for flexible packaging and, as the third biggest European company in this market segment, has sales of some EUR 335m. Danapak is a subsidiary of the big dairy group Arla Foods (DK-8260 Viby J; www.arlafoods.com), which dominates the Scandinavian dairy product market.
