UK packaging site to close
Polimoon Packaging (Beccles / UK; www.polimoon.com) has announced plans to close its UK factory at Sutton-in-Ashfield, following a strategic review of manufacturing operations connected with the loss of a major contract (also see Plasteurope.com Web of 23.06.2006). Activities are to be consolidated at the company´s other UK plants.
However, another 55 jobs could be lost, following 26 redundancies planned for the first quarter of 2007. Some staff may transfer to the other sites in Beccles, Deeside and Thetford. Both Beccles and Deeside expanded their facilities in 2006.
