Elenac: New LDPE plant in Berre
After announcing the construction of a 250,000 t/y HDPE facility in Wesseling, Elenac SA (HQ: 8, rue du Parc, F-57088 Strasbourg) has now decided to make a second major investment: a world-scale facility for LDPE with a capacity of 320,000 t/y. It is to be built at Shell's site in Berre in southern France. The plant is due to go on stream in the second quarter of 2000 and will replace the 110,000 t/y Cochime facility, which will then be closed down. The estimated cost of the project is around DEM 200m.
