Mega-plastics fair will once again include a “Science Campus” / Encouraging dialogue between research institutions and industry
After a successful debut at the last edition, this year’s mega-plastics event, “K 2016” (www.k-online.com), will once again feature a “Science Campus”, aimed at fostering dialogue between research and industry. Part of the eight-day fair, held in Düsseldorf / Germany from 19-26 October 2016, the Science Campus will focus on several themes, including innovation drivers of global change focusing on resource efficiency, the concept of “Plastics Industry 4.0”, new materials, lightweight engineering as well as scientific training in macromolecular chemistry and plastics technology.
This year’s campus will occupy an enlarged area and also include a greater number of participants. It will be located in hall 7 of the Düsseldorf fairgrounds. The companies, associations and institutions that will be part of it will be presenting pioneering materials and technologies that respond to the main challenges facing the plastics and rubber industry, fair organiser Messe Düsseldorf (Düsseldorf; www.messe-duesseldorf.de) said. These themes will also find expression in the special show “Plastics Shape the Future” (see Plasteurope.com of 12.10.2015) as well as in the Innovation Compass.
Exhibition space for the triannual plastics event was sold out in August last year, with more than 3,000 exhibitors having booked booths in the 19 halls (see Plasteurope.com of 31.08.2015).
