K 2016
Mega plastics fair sold out more than a year before kick-off / Special exhibit on how plastics shape our future / Science Campus
More than 3,000 global exhibitors have registered for next year's "K" |
With more than a year left before the fair actually begins, exhibitor space for “K 2016” (www.k-online.de) – held in Düsseldorf / Germany from 19-26 October 2016 – has been completely sold out. All of the fairground’s 19 halls have been fully booked, with more than 3,000 global exhibitors having registered by the time booking ended, in late May. Organiser Messe Düsseldorf (Düsseldorf / Germany; www.messe-duesseldorf.de) said it will be able to grant the requests of all companies that applied for exhibition space, although it did warn that some firms might have to compromise as far as their booth’s size is concerned.
Held every three years, “K” is considered to be the world’s leading plastics fair, characterised by a high degree of internationality. The last edition drew 3,220 exhibitors from 59 different countries, as well as 218,000 visitors from more than 100 different countries (for a detailed post-show report, see Plasteurope.com of 24.10.2013).
Highlights at next year’s mega fair will include a special exhibit in hall 6, illustrating how plastics will shape our future and help solve the problems of tomorrow, including from a functional, aesthetic and sustainability perspective. Key themes will be resource efficiency, lightweight construction, Industry 4.0 as well as marine litter. Another unique feature of the show will be the Science Campus, where research institutes, universities and institutes of higher learning will present their latest findings on plastics and rubber.
