Global price increase for polyvinyl alcohol
Effective 15 May 2017, Sekisui Specialty Chemicals (Dallas, Texas / USA; www.sekisui-sc.com) intends to raise the worldwide prices of polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH). An increase of USD 125/t or EUR 125/t, depending on region, is planned for all grades of “Selvol Polyvinyl Alcohol”, “Selvol Ultiloc” and “Selvol Premiol” products.
The company previously increased PVOH product prices in March (see Plasteurope.com of 20.02.2017). Among other things, the materials are used in the production of packaging films, in laminates and in adhesives.
