Price increase for neopentyl glycol and trimethylolpropane in Europe
With effect from 15 June, oxo intermediates and derivatives producer Oxea (Monheim am Rhein / Germany; www.oxea-chemicals.com) has increased prices in Europe for neopentyl glycol (NPG) and trimethylolpropane (TMP) by EUR 200/t each.
NPG, a polyol, is one of the main components in polyester resins used to manufacture coatings, unsaturated polyesters, lubricants and plasticisers. TMP is an intermediate used mostly in the manufacture of alkyd resins for coating materials as well as synthetic lubricants.
