Chemical distributor Univar Solutions (Downers Grove, Illinois, USA; www.univar.com) has acquired competitor Vicom Distribución (Barcelona, Spain, www.vicomdistribucion.es). The acquisition strengthens the speciality portfolio with coatings, adhesives, sealants, and elastomers, the US company says.
Additionally, the company is expanding its activities in Europe. Further details of the transaction were not disclosed. Vicom’s portfolio includes materials from Arkema, Borealis, ExxonMobil, Goodyear Chemical, MLPC, and Synthomer, among others.
