Etimex Primary Packaging (Dietenheim, Germany; has introduced a new peelable polypropylene film for sealing applications. Thanks to increased opacity, the film provides the product with sufficient protection from light exposure and has a density < 1. According to Etimex, the decisive factor for the development was a customer request for a mono-material yoghurt package. Omitting the aluminium foil cover makes the yoghurt cups recyclable, including the PP covers.
