Thai recycler EcoBlue (Siam Eastern Industrial Park, Rayong; www.ecoblue.co.th) will install a bottle-to-bottle line for PET recycling at its new USD 25m (EUR 21m) reclaim facility, according to Austrian machine maker Starlinger (Vienna; www.starlinger.com), which is supplying the unit.

The plant in the Rayong province will also recycle polyolefins, Starlinger said, noting that its line can produce up to 20,000 t/y of rPET. The supplier says the unit has a 215 mm screw, which offers throughput as high as 2,500 kg/hour.

EcoBlue says on its website that it has a letter of no objection (LNO) from the US Food and Drug Administration for its “3D Pure” brands of rPET, which makes them acceptable for food-contact applications. The company said it is the first in Thailand to receive such an approval.
