For EUR 17.9m, French biopolymers and recycling technologies specialist Carbios (Saint-Beauzire; www.carbios.fr) has acquired the outstanding 37.29% of the shares in Carbiolice (Riom / France; www.carbiolice.com) from public investment bank Bpifrance. After the transaction, which values Carbiolice at around EUR 48m, Carbios now holds all shares in the company.

The biopolymer specialist and the investment bank had founded the Riom-based company in 2016 to further develop and commercialise the proprietary composting technology (see Plasteurope.com of 22.09.2016). In the following years, the joint venture, headed by Nadia Auclair, developed enzyme additives for PLA composting via methanation.
