Global price hikes for dispersions, resins and dispersible polymer powders
Germany’s Wacker Chemie (Munich; www.wacker.com) has announced global price increases for its dispersions, resins and dispersible polymer powders. Effective 15 March 2021, prices for Wacker’s complete product range will be raised by up to 10%, or as contracts allow, the company said. Wacker cited higher raw material costs and extreme tightness in the procurement of various raw materials as reasons for the hikes.

Wacker’s “Vinnapas” brand dispersions and dispersible polymer powders are used in applications such as construction, adhesives, caulks, nonwovens, paints and coatings, paper, carpet and textiles. The company announced increases for the brand’s dispersions and solid resins in EMEA in January 2021 (see Plasteurope.com of 11.01.2021).
