Additives and masterbatch producer Tosaf (Afula / Israel; www.tosaf.com) has launched a range of new metallic colour masterbatches which it claims prevents streaking and other surface defects on plastic parts. The Israeli company, a joint venture between compatriot Megides Holdings and Belgian plastics group Ravago (Arendonk; www.ravago.com), said its pigment technology led to a reduction in the separation effects responsible for streak formation or colour deviations in critical areas such as weld lines and cross-sectional transitions or with distinctly three-dimensional, concave or convex contours.

Andreas Kruschinski, Tosaf’s head of sales and marketing, said as well as automotive interior and exterior applications, sectors that could benefit from the new product would be office electronics, such as keyboards and laptop housings, and a variety of white goods, ranging from large and small kitchen devices.
