US company acquires Irish precision injection moulder
Rigid plastic packaging manufacturer Technimark (Asheboro, North Carolina / USA; www.technimark.com) has acquired Tool & Plastic Industries (Longford / Ireland), a supplier of precision injection-moulded components to the medical device, pharmaceutical and consumer product sectors. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The US company is backed by investment firm Pritzker Private Capital (Chicago, Illinois; www.ppcpartners.com).

Founded in 1968, Tool & Plastic specialises in contract cleanroom moulding and assembly solutions. The company designs and manufactures medical devices and operates ISO class 8 cleanrooms at its Longford facility. It also has a manufacturing facility in Ostrava / Czech Republic. The acquisition adds to Technimark’s healthcare manufacturing expertise and its ability to serve customers across Western and Eastern Europe while bolstering its long-term growth strategy in the global healthcare sector, said Technimark CEO Brad Wellington.

Technimark operates injection moulding facilities in Asheboro and Mexico (Reynosa, Bajío and Mexicali), as well as Suzhou, Jiangsu / China and Aachen / Germany. Following the acquisition of Tool & Plastics, it will have a total of 13 sites and more than 4,400 employees.
