PLASTICS INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION
US organisation announces executive leadership appointments
The Plastics Industry Association (Plastics, Washington, D.C. / USA; www.plasticsindustry.org) appointed Glenn Anderson as vice president of industry relations and member engagement, effective 6 April 2020. It has also announced the appointments of Matt Seaholm as vice president of government affairs and Brendan Thomas as vice president of advocacy and voice, both effective 15 April 2020. Staff changes in Plastics’ management were evident earlier this year, when there were several notable departures – see Plasteurope.com of 24.02.2020.

Anderson has more than 36 years’ experience in the plastics industry, including posts at the Plastics Industry Association. He headed the association’s “Equipment Council” and served as chairman of the 2018 “National Plastics Exhibition” (NPE). Anderson was senior VP of sales, marketing and product management at machinery maker Milacron (Batavia, Ohio / USA; www.milacron.com) and held management and leadership positions in multiple business units during his tenure there. In his new role, Anderson will focus on leading the development and growth of the Plastics’ strategic plan and oversee its councils in addition to its sustainability, membership and events teams.

Seaholm previously served as the executive director of the American Recyclable Plastic Bag Alliance (ARPBA, Washington, D.C.; www.bagalliance.org) formerly known as the American Progressive Bag Alliance. He is also the former VP of public affairs for global communications firm Edelman. Seaholm began his career in the state of Wisconsin’s legislature, where he ran campaigns and advocacy efforts at the local, state and national levels. “Matt has the political and public affairs leadership skills that are needed to grow our government affairs operations further,” said Tony Radoszewski, president and CEO of Plastics.

Thomas has been a communications director for members of the US House of Representatives since 2014, where he directed online marketing, internal and external communications and public relations. He started his career as a reporter for the New York Sun. In his role at Plastics, Thomas will oversee the communications and marketing departments while working closely with the association’s government affairs operation.
