HENKEL / ALPLA
Partnership to construct new bottle production operation in US
Consumer chemicals producer Henkel (Düsseldorf / Germany; www.henkel.com) and packaging company Alpla (Hard / Austria; www.alpla.com) are investing in a new bottle manufacturing area at Henkel’s laundry detergent production facility in Bowling Green, Kentucky / USA. Alpla will run the new packaging plant, which will be more than 15,700 m². It is set to begin operations in mid-2020.

In the past three years, Henkel has invested more than USD 100m in its Bowling Green plant, and total investments in the site are expected to be more than USD 130m. Stephan Fuesti-Molnar, president of Henkel Consumer Goods North America, says the US is one of Henkel’s largest markets, noting the company has strengthened its position there over the last four years through investments of nearly USD 5 bn.
