The composites trade fair "JEC World 2019" will run from 12-14 March 2019 in Paris / France. Organiser JEC Group (Paris; www.jeccomposites.com) expects more than 43,000 visitors from around 115 countries at the event. JEC World 2018 had 42,445 attendees and included more than 1,300 exhibitors over the three days. Over 1,350 exhibitors are expected to attend in 2019.

According to the JEC Group, the composites industry employs 550,000 people worldwide. In 2017, the sector generated sales of EUR 83 bn.

This year's edition of JEC World will highlight two regions with strong composites ecosystems – the Netherlands and France. It will also host its first area dedicated to 3D printing in partnership with IMT, DLR and Thermwood.

JEC World 2019 will again have four focused areas called "innovation planets" for OEMs and suppliers – "Aero&Space", "Auto&Transport", "Construction&Energy" and "Sports&Lifestyle". The event's conference programme includes topics on aeronautics, automotive, building/construction, simulation, additive manufacturing as well as sports and leisure. Speakers on the "Agora" stage will include Bertrand Piccard (Solar Impulse Foundation), Enrico Palermo (The Spaceship Company), Luciano De Oto (Lamborghini) and Carlo Ratti (MIT).

A third edition of the start-up competition "Startup Booster" will take place, and the "JEC Innovation Awards" will identify, promote and reward the most innovative composite projects. The awards will be announced on 13 March.
