Expansion of French PEKK production completed / Plans for world-scale plant in US confirmed
French speciality chemicals producer Arkema (Colombes; www.arkema.com) has doubled production capacity for “Kepstan” PEKK (polyether ketone ketone) in France. The company has also confirmed its plans to build a world-scale PEKK plant at its Mobile, Alabama / USA site, which is expected to come on stream in the second half of 2018. The two projects were announced by Arkema in March 2015 – see Plasteurope.com of 11.03.2015.
The investments will serve the future needs of the carbon fibre reinforced composites and additive manufacturing (3D printing) markets, the company said.
