Purchase of Phillips-Medisize completed / Meeting growing demand for innovative connected health solutions
Interconnect solutions provider Molex (Lisle, Illinois / USA; www.molex.com) has completed its acquisition of Phillips-Medisize (Hudson, Wisconsin / USA; www.phillipsmedisize.com), a leading medical solutions player (for previous coverage, see Plasteurope.com of 19.08.2016). Seller was private equity firm Golden Gate Capital (San Francisco, California / USA; www.goldengatecap.com). Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.

Phillips-Medisize will now become an indirect subsidiary of Molex. The new owner said that in combination with its own expertise in electronics, the addition of Phillips-Medisize will allow it to “better serve the growing needs of the global market for innovative connected health solutions.”

Specialised in the production of drug delivery, mobile and portable medical devices as well as primary pharmaceutical packaging and diagnostic products, Phillips-Medisize operates 17 global production sites, home to about 4,300 employees. The company last posted sales of more than USD 700m.
