Germany's IK and France's Elipso organise third “PackTheFuture” award / New “Save Food” category added / Winners to be announced at 2017 “Interpack”
The next “PackTheFuture” sustainable plastic packaging award (www.packthefuture.com) will be bestowed in May 2017, during the “interpack” fair (www.interpack.com), held in Düsseldorf / Germany from 4-10 May 2017. Organised by Germany’s plastics packaging industry association Industrievereinigung Kunststoffverpackungen (IK, Bad Homburg; www.kunststoffverpackungen.de) and the French association of flexible packaging producers Elipso (Paris; www.elipso.org), the award recognises the creativity and innovation potential of the plastic and flexible packaging sectors.
The 2017 edition adds a new category to the existing three of Ecodesign, Product Protection and Social Benefit. In making Save Food another classification, the organisers will give food packaging manufacturers the opportunity of presenting innovations that minimise food loss and waste, extent shelf life and improve food supply.
In the 2015 edition, the “PackTheFuture” award was bestowed on seven different companies (for details, see Plasteurope.com of 02.12.2015).
