Plastics distributor Ultrapolymers Deutschland (Augsburg / Germany; www.ultrapolymers.de) has added standard “Trirex” PC grades from Samyang (Seoul / South Korea; www.samyangcorp.com) to its engineering plastics portfolio. It will market the products in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Ultrapolymers says features of the materials include high transparency, dimensional stability, impact strength and temperature resistance, as well as good mechanical and dielectric properties. They are suitable for applications such as highly transparent automotive parts, housings for consumer and household electronics and containers such as beakers and food storage boxes.

Viscosities range from 34 g/10 min for the ultra-easy-flow 3017 grades for thin-wall injection moulding to 3 g/10 min for the high-viscosity 3030 extrusion grades. Special additives can be incorporated, for example to increase heat or UV stability, and optical quality grades are also available.
