Sale of Minerals business to J.M. Huber wrapped up
Albemarle (Baton Rouge, Louisiana / USA; www.albemarle.com) has completed the sale of its Minerals business comprising mineral flame retardants and speciality chemicals to J.M. Huber Corp (Edison, New Jersey / USA; www.huber.com) – for previous coverage, see Plasteurope.com of 22.12.2015. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The company’s Martinswerk (Bergheim / Germany; www.martinswerk.de) subsidiary on 1 February became part of J.M. Huber’s Fire Retardant Additives business unit.

The new owner said it would retain current management at Martinswerk, adding that its Fire Retardants Additives unit would be structured in a regional manner, with a general manager operating out of Europe.
