Two weeks into the new year and shortly after the MBO of Huhtamaki’s (Espoo / Finland; www.huhtamaki.com) Films business was wrapped up, the new owners have renamed the unit Infiana Group (Forchheim / Germany). The new name, introduced on 15 January, contains a number of key company values, CEO Peter Wahsner said, adding that these include innovation, films and infinity – all of which reflect the know-how of the group with a history dating back 160 years.

In the coming weeks Infiana – which has about 1,000 employees spread across production sites in Forchheim, Malvern, Pennsylvania / USA, Camaçari / Brazil and Samutsakron / Thailand – will rename all its global operations. The company, which posted sales of about EUR 187m in 2013, produces speciality films for the consumer, industrial and pressure-sensitive markets.
