Malay subsidiary acquires plastics distribution business of Tropichem
Come 1 June 2012, the plastics and industrial chemicals distribution business of Malay thermoset moulding compounds distributor Tropichem (Boton Industry Park, Selangor) will become part of IMCD Malaysia, a member of global specialty chemicals distributor IMCD (Rotterdam / The Netherlands; www.imcdgroup.com). Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
The agreement is focused on amino and phenolic moulding compounds, specialty coatings and engineering plastics. Commenting on the acquisition, IMCD Malaysia managing director TS Cheah said it would allow the group to “further expand our portfolio”.
