Fadigas named as Braskem CEO

Braskem (São Paulo / Brazil; www.braskem.com.br) has named Carlos Fadigas as its new CEO, to take over from Bernardo Gradin next year. Fadigas is currently head of Braskem’s US operations and was previously group CFO.
Braskem said it is announcing its succession plan after concluding its consolidation strategy for the Brazilian market, acquiring the PP business of Sunoco Chemicals (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania / USA; www.sunocoinc.com), progressing its “Ethylene XXI” project in Mexico and inaugurating its first green PE plant. The nomination of Fadigas will be submitted to the Board of Directors in 2011.
