Acquisition of injection moulder E-PLA
Horticultural thermoform packaging manufacturer Desch Plantpak (Waalwijk / The Netherlands; www.desch-plantpak.com/) has added injection moulded products to its range through the acquisition of E-PLA (Ter Aar / The Netherlands; www.e-pla.nl). The moulder manufactures decorative pots, hanging baskets, plant bowls, clips and accessories.
Desch Plantpak produces thermoform flowerpots and containers, transport trays, marketing trays, seed trays, propagation trays and bedding plant packs for professional horticulturalists. The products are made from PP, PS, PET and biopolymers, capacities of which stand at 22,000 t, 19,000 t, roughly 100 t and 240 t, respectively. The company is the European operation of Desch Summit, formed by Summit Plastic in the US and Desch in The Netherlands. It has six production sites in four countries on two continents and dealerships and customers in around sixty countries.
