Stake in COFEL to be sold to jv partner Pikolin
Polyurethanes converter Recticel (Brussels / Belgium; www.recticel.com) is planning to sell its 50% stake in leading French bedding manufacturer COFEL (Compagnie Financière Européenne de Literie, Paris / France) to its partner in the joint venture, Pikolin (Zaragoza / Spain). COFEL, which had a turnover of EUR 153m in 2008, produces the “Epeda”, “Merinos” and “Bultex” brands and manufactured 1.2m mattresses and 300,000 slat and bed bases in the year. It has five production plants in France – in Langeac, Limoges, Noyen, Perriers and Vesoul – and around 850 employees.
