AMPAC
Floeter Flexible Packaging acquired
Leading US plastic bag manufacturer Ampac Packaging (Cincinnati, Ohio; www.ampaconline.com) has acquired the privately-owned Floeter Flexible Packaging (Eberdingen / Germany; www.floeter.com) for an undisclosed sum. Floeter, which has around 130 employees, produces over 500m packaging units in Germany and more than 1.3 bn stand-up pouches worldwide, with annual sales of over EUR 23m. The acquisition includes two manufacturing facilities in Germany – at Eberdingen and Leipzig – and one each in India (New Delhi) and the USA (Chicago / Illinois).
Ampac, which established a European division based in the UK in 2006, said that Floeter’s position as a leader in production of preformed retort pouches makes the acquisition a logical next step in the US company’s strategic growth plan. Floeter will remain as a stand alone operation as part of Ampac’s flexibles division.
