SYNSEAL
Permacell business now in administration
Only eight months after acquiring PVC profile extruder Permacell Finesse (PFL) for GBP 10m (EUR 14.6m), Synseal Holdings (Sutton in Ashfield / UK; www.synseal.co.uk) has placed the business in administration. The decision follows a worsening of trading conditions in the rigid PVC foam sector and a financial review of the PFL business. Synseal said that the acquired business was found to be less stable than expected. As a result, some activities were transferred from Witham, Essex to Synseal headquarters to allow the remaining cellular activities to benefit from additional resources, particularly space. Despite this rationalisation and the investment of "very considerable sums," PFL has continued to give a "series of poor performances," Synseal said.
