Bakelite to be renamed Hexion
The name Bakelite will cease to exist in future. On 1 June 2005 the merger was completed between Borden Chemical Inc (www.bordenchem.com), Columbus, Ohio / USA, Resolution Performance Products (RPP) and Resolution Specialty Materials (RSM) - Europe: both Resolution Europe BV (www.resins.com), Hoogvliet / Netherlands. According to the company, Bakelite AG (www.bakelite.de), Iserlohn / Germany, which was only recently acquired by Borden Chemical, will also form part of the new Hexion Speciality Chemicals Inc and will operate under the name Hexion both in Germany and abroad.
