Plans for new vacuum cleaner nozzle facility in Poland / Joint venture with local injection moulder Poliamid
Wessel-Werk (Reichshof-Wildbergerhütte / Germany; www.wessel-werk.com) is planning to build a new vacuum cleaner nozzle plant in Klodzko / Poland. The facility will likely be operated as a joint venture with Poliamid Plastics (Klodzko / Poland; www.poliamid.com). Wessel Poliamid intends to invest at least PLN 25m (about EUR 5.7m) in the plant, which is expected to have a total workforce of about 100 once it reaches its full run.

Wessel-Werk was rescued from bankruptcy in 2013, when investor Lafayette (Berlin / Germany; www.lafayettemittelstandcapital.com) acquired full control of the company. A year after the takeover, the company posted sales of about EUR 56m, which the new owner described as "quite satisfactory". Wessel-Werk’s total workforce comes to about 200.

Founded in 1989, Poliamid Plastics operates 38 injection moulding machines on a total space measuring 25,000 m². Its 80 staff specialise in the production of protective caps, plugs, caps and lids used for industrial applications as well as bracers, caps and accessories for pipes. The company also manufactures customer-specific solutions. The group’s portfolio spans more than 3,000 different products, of which it exports about 70%.
