WACKER
Extended “Vinnex” additives line for bioplastics to be displayed at “K 2016”
Germany’s Wacker Chemie (Munich; www.wacker.com) will introduce additional “Vinnex” polyvinyl acetate-based additive grades for bioplastic compounds at “K 2016” (www.k-online.com), held in Düsseldorf / Germany from 19 to 26 October.
The company said the additives can considerably enhance the processing and property profile of biopolyesters or blends with starch. For example, “Vinnex” 2526 simplifies the manufacture of transparent, rigid PLA films, while 2522, 2523 and 2525 are claimed to significantly improve processing and heat-sealing properties in paper coating with PLA or PBS and 8880 optimises the flow properties in the melt for injection moulding applications and 3D printing.
