Distribution agreement for A. Schulman's speciality PVC grades extended in northwestern Europe
Vestolit (Marl / Germany; www.vestolit.de), a subsidiary of Mexichem (Tlalnepantla / Mexico; www.mexichem.com), has extended its agreement with A. Schulman (Akron, Ohio / USA; www.aschulman.com) to include the distribution of its suspension-, micro suspension- and emulsion-PVC grades in selected European countries. Heinrich Lingnau, A. Schulman senior VP and general manager for EMEA, said the new agreement “enables us to offer our customers a complete range of PVC grades combined with the technical support of our experts.”
A. Schulman already distributes Vestolit’s standard grades, and the new agreement represents an extension in terms of both geography and product range, said Hans-Christoph Porth, VP for commercial operations at Vestolit. “A. Schulman is now our exclusive distribution partner for Germany, Austria and Switzerland, as well as the Benelux countries, the Nordics and France,” he added.
According to Plasteurope.com's Polyglobe database (www.polyglobe.net), Vestolit has capacities for around 450,000 t/y of PVC at the Marl site. The German company has been part of the Mexichem chemicals group since 2014 – see Plasteurope.com of 18.11.2014. A. Schulman is also facing a change of ownership – the US authorities have given the go-ahead for the proposed acquisition by polyolefins giant LyondellBasell (Houston, Texas / USA; www.lyondellbasell.com) – see Plasteurope.com of 23.03.2018.
