Mattress producer planning new PU foam production facility in Russia
Russian mattress producer Vega Matras (Krasnodar; www.vega-matras.ru) is said to be planning its own polyurethane foam production facility. Local media report that the company intends to invest RUB 450m (about EUR 6.3m) at its site in Sadovyy, located in southern Russia, near the country’s border to Georgia. The facility, whose nameplate capacity was not disclosed, is scheduled to come on stream by 2019. Vega Matras is currently looking for the necessary credit line. Once the plant is operational, local media report, it will offer up to 70 new jobs.

Vega Matras’ portfolio includes about 100 different mattress models, as well as related accessories, such as blankets and pillows. The company says it is able to manufacture to customer specifications, and also operates its own logistics system and fleet, cutting down delivery time. With clients situated all over Russia – and consisting of large manufacturers as well as traders and furniture stores – Vega Matras also runs a dedicated sales network that markets its products across the entire country.
