Second plant for PEX pipes in the USA
Finnish pipes manufacturer Uponor (Vantaa; www.uponor.com) has invested EUR 5.6m in a new plant for cross-linked PE pipes in the USA. The company will acquire a production facility in Hutchinson, Minnesota. After 10 expansions at its current premises in Apple Valley, Minnesota (see Plasteurope.com of 15.05.2017), the limits of growth here have been reached. The deal is expected to close by 31 August 2017. The new 22,000 m² production facility is to serve the expected growth in PEX pipes in North America from 2019 onwards.
