Belgian plastics distributor Ultrapolymers (Lommel; www.ultrapolymers.com) has added masterbatches in RAL standard colours to its portfolio. Depending on the carrier material, the masterbatches are suited for colouring most plastics, including PS, ABS, SAN, PE and PP, as well as engineering plastics such as PA, POM, PBT and PC.
According to the company, the masterbatches are dry, non-dusty and storable. The pigments used are lead- and diarylide-free, and approved in the EU for food contact applications. With small amounts, a homogeneous, true to colour result can be achieved in injection moulding and extrusion. Custom colour matching according to a sample is possible.
"We have a very large number of easy-to-use colour-plastic combinations in opaque as well as transparent design available from stock in short order, in quantities of 25 kg and more," says Harry Rist, product manager at Ultrapolymers Deutschland (Augsburg / Germany).
