TREOFAN
Phthalate-free packaging films now available
German BOPP film specialist Treofan (Raunheim; www.treofan.com) is offering phthalate-free packaging films on request. Phthalate-free base polymers are used in the extrusion process to make these films.
According to the company, standard films already have a low phthalate content (0.001%, < 10 mg/kg) compared to PVC, which has concentrations of up to 30%. The use of phthalates in plastics is currently under discussion and there is growing demand, particularly in food contact applications, for completely phthalate-free packaging materials.
