German BOPP film producer Treofan (Raunheim; www.treofan.com) is streamlining its European management structure, emulating the example of the model it has in place in the Americas. The company has created a new function, chief operations officer Europe, with oversight of all European plants, meaning the facility in Neunkirchen / Germany as well as the two Italian plants, located in Battipaglia and Terni. The position will be filled by Luigi Martinese, who has overseen operations at the Italian plants for the past 15 years. The realignment follows the departure of Hady Seyeda, formerly global COO at the group.
As part of the new structure, Treofan has set up a new European board. Aside from Martinese, its members include Carolyn Wagner, in charge of Packaging and Labels, Nico Schoeman, who oversees Tobacco Packaging and Technical Films, and Franz Josef Kruger, responsible for Treopore Separators. The company plans to add a new supply chain manager soon.
In addition, Treofan has appointed Boris Trautmann as its second managing director, serving alongside CEO Walter Bickel. Whereas the latter will be in charge of all operational areas as well as finance, innovation and IT, Trautmann will oversee human resources, legal, compliance, patents and internal audit matters.
Commenting on the realignment, Bickel said, “By adapting our European management structure to the model already used in the Americas division with great success, we can now respond even more flexibly and rapidly to customer and market needs.” Treofan last year started up a new 8.7m-wide production line in Neunkirchen as part of a EUR 30m investment the company called its largest single investment in decades (see Plasteurope.com of 21.10.2015).
