Spain’s plastics and rubber trade fair, “Equiplast” (www.equiplast.com) is back with its 19th edition. After being postponed last year (see Plasteurope.com of 18.03.2020), Equiplast 2021 is now being held from 14 to 17 September in Hall 3 of the Gran Via exhibition centre in Barcelona, and is expected to see over 250 exhibitors.
Organised by Fira de Barcelona (www.firabcn.es), the event this year will showcase solutions developed to promote a circular economy. In keeping with the same, Equiplast will recreate a recycling plant “Reciplast” at the event to demonstrate reliable systems for the recovery of plastics. It will also feature “Rethinking Plastics”, an exhibition of products made from 100% recycled plastic from renewable and biodegradable sources. Furthering the same, Equiplast will also be holding the first edition of its “Shaping the Future Awards”, in which functional designs made from recycled plastic or sustainable materials will be recognised.
The latest edition will be held was concurrently with “Expoquimia” and “Eurosurfas” exhibitions at the same venue. Eurosurfas, the surface treatment event, set to feature around 80 exhibitors, will present latest developments in the field of functional surfaces, while Expoquimia, expected to host 300 brands – with the support of FEIQUE (www.feique.org), the business federation of the Spanish chemical industry – the fair will present the sector’s contribution to United Nations’ sustainable development goals.
